I love this!!!! We grew up watching TV, but as I got older I found myself more and more annoyed with the poor quality of TV shows and the endless messages shoved down my throat. So I stopped watching it completely, and now I find I don't have the patience for it, unless I'm sewing or knitting or something. I'm too restless to just sit calmly in front of the TV anymore.

Aimless consumption really does become mentally exhausting eventually. And that isn't to say that 100% of television entertainment falls into the category of unintelligent drivel. Just a lot of it, and more now than ever before. There are some genuinely good, interesting shows, but they're increasingly hard to find--especially children's content.

My parents got rid of the TV in the Late 80s when I was two. Similar experience. growing up without it makes a person different. Now my children are growing up with out it.

So are mine! Glad to hear others are doing the same. I hope that those among the next generation who experience real childhood will manage to find each other.
